Do you realize that most organizations can\u2019t love you back?  <\/span>OK, maybe their not supposed to.  <\/span>But have you ever found yourself on the receiving end of being the \u201cjilted lover?\u201d  <\/span>I have\u2026more than I care to remember.  <\/span>You give, which is reasonable, then the organization says goodbye or so long.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I think the answer to the riddle is to love your work, and not your workplace.  <\/span>It took me a long time to realize this, but a very liberating paradigm indeed.  <\/span>Does this make you squirm a little?  <\/span>Probably not, especially if you\u2019ve been in Corporate America in the most recent past.  <\/span>Listen, the issue is loving what you do.  <\/span>We\u2019ve confused the organizations we work for and the thing that makes us come alive.  <\/span>If you plan on working for 30 years doing something, it better excite you.  <\/span>If you haven\u2019t given up on making a difference, then you should examine who, or what you love.  <\/span>The answer will astound you.  <\/span>I offer the following for the aftermath:<\/span><\/p>\n

1.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Find out what you truly have a passion for.<\/p>\n

2.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Start loving what you do, and if you don\u2019t go find something that ignites your passions.<\/p>\n

3.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Get out of financial debt (creates freedom of choice).<\/p>\n

4.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Get a mentor\/advisor.<\/p>\n

5.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Significance is more important than success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
