Today is his birthday, a fitting tribute.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><object data=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/ApOJH2S2QLQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/ApOJH2S2QLQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>The above is a concert clip of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericclapton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Clapton<\/a> performing <em>Broken Hearted<\/em>.\u00a0 The song is beautiful and fitting for me as I lost my father a couple of weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>If you read my blog for insights on leadership and development, I hope you will allow me to take a road not often traveled here.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m now faced with understanding a void like I&#8217;ve never faced before.\u00a0 But what is striking me most is all things I&#8217;m learning that didn&#8217;t occur when my father was living.\u00a0 When you&#8217;re playing your part on the stage of life you just can&#8217;t see everything the audience does.\u00a0 I write this with tears.<\/p>\n<p>I won&#8217;t give you any advice in this post on how to handle losing a loved one.\u00a0 I&#8217;m discovering that a broken heart can make way for something God-Touched.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post is from February, 2009.
