{"id":711,"date":"2007-11-06T10:09:03","date_gmt":"2007-11-06T10:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epicliving.com\/epic\/motivated-by-fe\/"},"modified":"2007-11-06T10:09:03","modified_gmt":"2007-11-06T10:09:03","slug":"motivated-by-fe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.epicliving.com\/epic\/motivated-by-fe\/","title":{"rendered":"Motivated by Fear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today starts the unwrapping of some of the subject matter in yesterday&#8217;s post <a href=\"http:\/\/epicliving.blogs.com\/epic_living\/2007\/11\/how-to-know-you.html\"><em>How To Know If You&#8217;re a Corporate Slave<\/em><\/a>.&nbsp; See the list from yesterday to connect the dots.<\/p>\n<p>One of sure signs that you&#8217;re a corporate slave is when fear motivates you.&nbsp; I&#8217;m not talking about fear of a deadline or being late to a meeting.&nbsp; The type of fear I speak of is ongoing.&nbsp; For example, you recognize that your boss has authority over you and you live in fear that dismissal is a mere breath away.<\/p>\n<p>This post is not designed to tease or make light of your fear.&nbsp; Matter of fact, I know your situation is very serious.&nbsp; I have counseled many on dealing with this issue.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>What if you did the following and decided to move toward freedom?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Admit to yourself that you are living in fear (not to mention motivated by it). <\/li>\n<li>See fear for what it is; <strong>F<\/strong>alse <strong>E<\/strong>vidence <strong>A<\/strong>ppearing <strong>R<\/strong>eal. <\/li>\n<li>Find a mentor to help you in your journey. <\/li>\n<li>Ask yourself this question; Is what (your job) I&#8217;m doing make me come alive?&nbsp; <\/li>\n<li>Cross the Rubicon and don&#8217;t look back.&nbsp; It won&#8217;t be easy, but it will move you toward your Destiny.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of the above won&#8217;t solve every situation or problem you face.&nbsp; But it is a start in the right direction.&nbsp; The dangers of being motivated by fear are obvious and yet subtle at the same time.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/epicliving.blogs.com\/.shared\/image.html?\/photos\/uncategorized\/2007\/11\/06\/chuck_prince.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Chuck_prince\" height=\"81\" alt=\"Chuck_prince\" src=\"http:\/\/epicliving.blogs.com\/epic_living\/images\/2007\/11\/06\/chuck_prince.jpg\" width=\"100\" border=\"0\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" \/><\/a> You may get that retirement package you want like Chuck, but you&#8217;ll have traded something for it.&nbsp; You can&#8217;t have it all.&nbsp; You can&#8217;t&nbsp; slave for 60 hours a week and think that you can have a great relationship with your spouse&#8230;kids&#8230;friends and most importantly God.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>You only have a short time to get this right.&nbsp; Get in touch to learn how I can help.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today starts the unwrapping of some of the subject matter in yesterday&#8217;s post How To Know If You&#8217;re a Corporate Slave.&nbsp; See the list from yesterday to connect the dots.
